Makin' Strides-

The day before Jozie turned 4 months old she rolled over. When we took her to the doctor for her 4 month shots, her doctor asked if she was rolling over- to her surprise we said, "yes"!! She informed us that at 4 month check ups she always asks parents if their children are rolling over and she always expects them to say no. So we decided that we had to brag a bit about our little gal. She's rolling from her back to her tummy and she kicks her feet like she is ready to take off crawling. Our gal's a mover and we are thinking that crawling may be coming sooner than we think!

We also started her on cereal this week and in a couple of weeks she gets to start trying some fruits and veggies- it's crazy to think how fast our little girl is growing up!! It seems like only yesterday that we were in the hospital delivering her and now she already seems so independent- it is very bittersweet for me...

Jozie also started sleeping in her own bed about 3 weeks ago. We just slowly started to see what her comfort level was- when she needed us, we would put her back in bed with us- but to our surprise she likes being able to stretch out and sleeps between 6-8 hours by herself. It has been much nicer that she has weaned herself from our bed versus us trying to get her out when we think its time....

This month we also had some fun visits with our good friends that we don't get to see nearly enough- we had a great time catching up!

Rollin' on the River

We took Jozie on her first trip to the river. Went went fishing with our friends in their boat and we had so much fun! Jozie loved the wind in her face and she looked so cute in her life jacket- it was actually more like a straight-jacket..ha! And of course I forgot my camera- but we took her to the river again the next day and got some fun pictures.

10/4

Well- our little Jozie Ryan is growing! We had a weight check for her this week and she is 10lbs/4oz! She is still pretty small- she is only in about the 5th percentile for height and hasn't quite made the charts for weight- it may be slowly, but surely that our little peanut is growing! She is just so much fun- she has so many stories to tell, has lots of smiles (mom is still trying to catch a big one on camera), she has lots of wiggles too! We can lay her down on the floor and before we know it, she has done a complete 180~ we are thinking that she is going to be rolling over pretty soon.

We picked up Auntie Sassie today from the airport. She will be spending the summer in MP (home from Bible College)- and we are so excited to have her so close for the next 3 months- welcome home Cass!

BTW- we know that our little girl is most definitely an Aasen now- she found her nose this morning and stuck her finger in it and she had 3 fingers in her mouth (she is really into eating her hands right now- might not need a binky for much longer- her hands are just too handy!)- she was cracking us up- every time I look at the picture I can't help but laugh!

3 MONTHS

So I know that we haven't been on the ball lately updating pictures- it's after midnight and I am finally getting a chance to get some "Mommy time" and post some new pics. There are just a few new ones- the ones when she is sleeping are always the best because she is just so dramatic with those hands- she always makes us laugh! :) We headed over to the coast the other weekend and enjoyed a nice afternoon at the beach- the picture of her with her bottle- she's in the back of our car at the beach and she is holding the bottle herself- it was cracking us up! We love a woman in charge!! She also had an evening visit with her cousin, Avery- who helped give her a bath, pick out her clothes for the night and help feed her. Jozie sure is lucky to have her!

March Madness!

Whew....March has come and gone and we can't believe that we are already part way through April! This last month has just flown by- between late night feedings, doctor appointments, visiting family and friends, taxes (ugh!) and trying to make sense of some sort of "schedule"- being new parents has definitely been keeping us on our toes! So to no one's surprise, we are having a hard time keeping up on this blogging-business. So to be on the safe side, check in on us once a month or so and you might be lucky to catch something new! Sorry there are so many pics- just tough for mom to pick and choose, I guess!

Here are some of the highlights from this last month and past few days...
* Jozie is 10 weeks old and our little peanut has just about reached a whopping 8lbs! To say the least, we are having a tough time putting weight on our little gal- slowly, but surely she is creeping up the scales!
* We took Jozie in to get her 2 month shots this past month and she took it like a champ- she may be wiry- but she's tough!
* Auntie Cassie came home from Michigan to meet Jozie for the first time and our friend, Mallory came back from Texas to meet our gal- we sure are lucky!
* Jozie was blessed on the 29th. We had a quiet, little service for her in MP and a special prayer for her- it was so very special to us and we were lucky to have some close family and friends join us for the sweet occasion. Pictures will be coming soon!
* Daddy thought that it might be fun to go clam digging with Jozie this weekend (thinking she may be a little young yet)- instead we opted to take the long way home to MP and did some bear scouting and stopped at the lookout tower for a beautiful view of the mountains and Camas Valley.

We are so lucky to have Jozie! We love being parents and she is so much fun to watch grow! She is so busy with her hands- always moving them some way or another. She is trying so hard to constantly hold her head up and look around and she is full of smiles!
